The remarkable thoughts and wonderful shenanigans of DayBreak’s summer interns.

Summer Events: Canada 150

Hello DayBreak!

It’s been over a week now and I’ve met so many amazing people! Even though some people get super competitive during Jeopardy (you know who you are…) I had a blast playing and joking around with everyone who attended last Sunday. I hope to be able to do a lot more of that throughout the summer—getting all ages involved in events rather than solely focusing on young kids—and I also hope that you’ll all be able to join me at one point or another.

This is a very hectic week here at DayBreak—there was potluck planning, memorial set up; there’s Good Food Box pick up coming up, not to mention all of the other groups and recitals that also take place here. There have been so many volunteers walking through the church doors this week and we are beyond thankful.

I can’t wait to get to know more people. I think I’m going to be very happy serving here at DayBreak Community Church.

P.S. Here’s another picture of my cat because I shouldn’t be the only one who gets to enjoy her.

An Open Letter To DayBreak Community Church

It’s strange, you know? Starting a new job, meeting tonnes of new coworkers, new kids, new parents, even finding myself around a new community – it’s strange because despite all of this, I still feel like I’ve been here for more than a week.

In all honesty, I never thought that I would leave my home church in McKenzie Towne (actually in all honesty I never thought I would be attending any church). But then McKenzie Towne Church grew and grew and in the fall of 2015 we expanded, creating my new home of Mission Hill Church. Fast forward two years and here I am – a Summer Intern with DayBreak Community Church in Airdrie.

I am a 20 year old student with a love for God, music, and my cat, Nora (and my dog, Jasper). This summer I hope to grow in my areas of weakness while also strengthening my beliefs and talents. I can’t wait to see what this summer has in store!
