Something to Think About

The city of Airdrie has doubled in population so far in the 21st century.

The population in the churches in Airdrie has not doubled in size during that same time period.

That means the church community in Airdrie—even allowing for new ones that have started up recently—has lost market share.

Here are a few questions for you to reflect on in this regard over the long weekend as you huddle around the campfire with loved ones/friends to stay warm.

1. Does this reality trouble you at all? No, truly trouble you!
2. Why or why not?
3. What do you think this reality says about Canadian society in general?
4. What do you think this reality says about the churches of Airdrie in general?
5. What do you think this reality says about the Church in general?
6. If you were the proprietor of a business facing the reality of losing market share, what would you change about your business model? What would you not change? Why or why not?
7. Do you believe these matters should be of concern only to your pastor and/or your church Leadership Team? Why or why not?
8. What do you think should be changed at DayBreak Community Church? What should not be changed? Why or why not?
9. What would make you more eager to invite your friends to an event at DayBreak Church?
10. Would you be willing to honestly share your thoughts in this regard me or another member of the Leadership Team? Why or why not?

Happy long weekend! Stay safe! Stay dry! Stay warm! Watch out for bares!
