What Is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry at DayBreak using the Stephen Series system.
Stephen Ministry equips and empowers lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
Could you benefit from the care and support of a Stephen Minister?
We all experience challenges in life. Stephen Ministers are ready to provide the emotional and spiritual care we need when faced with a crisis or difficulty. The ministry is confidential—those receiving care and what takes place in each caring relationship remain private.
Stephen Ministry is for people who have faced crisis or difficulty such as: loss of a loved one; recovery after an accident or disaster; ageing; divorce or separation; spiritual crisis; hospitalization; terminal or chronic illness; loneliness; discouragement; incarceration; birth, adoption, miscarriage, or infertility; relocation; unemployment or job crisis; and many more.
This is Your Ministry!
You play an important role in our Stephen Ministry. Here’s what you can do: pray for God to bring hope and healing to hurting people through our Stephen Ministry; accept care from a Stephen Minister during your time of need—God doesn’t expect you to bear your burdens alone; and tell a friend, neighbour, coworker or relative who is hurting about our Stephen Ministry.
“My Stephen Minister … helped me put my life back together. I couldn’t have done it without him.”
